NEW SOLUTIONS FOR NON-WOVEN FLAP WHEELS MANUFACTURING
Metis introduces on the market two new systems for manufacturing of flaps in non-woven abrasives, to be used for assembling of flap wheels.

The CB-F-300-AP is a machine dedicated to production of flaps for flap wheels having small diameter. It cuts flaps out of master rolls 300 mm wide (other dimensions are possible, upon request) and is suitable for flap wheels in non-woven or mixed materials (non-woven + cloth).

On the other hand, SL-F-1650-AP is a system, consisting of a jumbo roll slitter and of a table for packing, pull-to-length and transversal cut-off of the flaps, dedicated to large scale production of flaps for flap wheels, having medium or large diameter, in non-woven abrasives only.

PR-N MODULE: IN-LINE ASSEMBLING AND PRESSING FOR PORTABLES AND PARQUET BELTS
Today large production volumes of endless abrasive belts, with overlap joint, for portable tools or floor sanding machines, can be optimized thanks to the new PR-N MODULE.

NEW VERSION OF WIDE BELTS CUT-TO-LENGTH UNIT
The new model of wide belts cutting unit CB-2150-W completes the Metis offering for cut to length of wide belts and segmented belts.
While the other model CB-2150 cuts by means of a circular conical knife against a contrasting straight blade, this unit uses the "crush cutting" technique (blade against anvil): therefore it allows to perform both straight and wavy cut.
The blades are mounted on a "revolving" holder which allows to swap from straight cut to wavy cut and vice versa in a few seconds.

A NEW CONCEPT IN ABRASIVES LAMINATION
Metis introduces a new approach to the manufacturing of self-fastening or multi-layer abrasives.
The VA-650-X represents an absolute innovation in this field: it allows to conversion centres, of medium or medium-large size, to turn scrap material into added value, applying, in an easy and economical way, self-fastening systems (hook-and-loop fabric, like Velcro® or PSA adhesives) or different supports (thin foam or similar) on abrasive master rolls, in cloth or paper, of limited width, in order to produce, out of them, discs, deltas, sheets, for instance using the versatile Metis automatic cutting unit CB-500/00-AX.
Thanks to the VA-650-X it is possible to increase authonomy and flexibility in the manufacturing department organization and to reduce the cost impact of the raw materials, even turning scraps into added value.
The VA-650-X and the CB-500/00-AX, in combination, are the right answer for the needs of abrasives conversion centres willing to extend their product range with a limited investment which keeps its value over the time!

ADL SYSTEM: A REAL INNOVATION IN THE WORLD OF SKIVING MACHINES
The ADL System is the new patented Metis system in the world of the skiving gluing lines.
ADL (Automatic detection logic) is a new innovative system for the automatic detection of the belts' side to be processed: thanks to this system the working heads of of an universal skiving line are automatically activated and de-activated depending on the side to be processed, abrasive side or backing side respectively.
With this system it is possible, on a single conveyor skiving line, to process in a single pass the two edges of narrow belts, sufficiently long, to be assembled with lap joint.
The two edges are loaded one after the other, with an easy twisting of the abrasive belt, and the machine processes them perfectly, detecting by means of optical sensors the side to be processed.
At the line discharge, the belt is ready to be assembled and pressed.
The ADL System grants, with a small investment, to significantly increase the prodctivity of an universal skiving line (SMU type) for the manufacturing of long narrow belts.

RF MODULE: THE MOST PRODUCTIVE SOLUTION FOR HANDY TOOLS AND PARQUET ABRASIVE BELTS MANUFACTURING
The RF Module is the cut-to-length system, directly from abrasive rolls, for the automatic feeding of the cut belts, to be integrated in already existing SMB or SMU skiving lines.
It significantly increases the productivity for big quantities of short narrow belts, typically used for hndy tools and floor sanding machines. Added on an existing skiving line, it extends the automation level, reducing the production costs.
It can work independently from the skiving line, as a stand alone cutting unit.
It is removable, in order to allow the manual loading of the abrasive belts to be processed onto the skiving line.

NEW METIS MACHINES FOR ABRASIVE BELTS PACKING
In the field of finished abrasive belts packing, Metis has been present until today with the winder for long abrasive belts ANB-300 and with the automatic wide abrasive belts coiler AWB: to these machines, the new model of automatic bundling machine for narrow belts BM-1/2-A added.
Designed to automatically collect into bundles the programmed number of narrow abrasive belts (usually for the belts range from portables to parquet), the BM-1/2-A significantly reduces the labour during this heavy phase of abrasive belts processing.
By now the version BM-1/2-A is available, configurable for belts from about 30 mm to 100 mm wide and between 400 and 650 long, or up to 300 mm wide and up to 850 mm long. The model BM/0-A for mini-belts is going to be developed.

IMPORTANT NEW FEATURES OF THE CUT-TO-LENGTH UNITS
The CB-500/00-AX is now even more performing, efficient and ecologically friendly.
It is fitted with a new hydro-pneumatic cutting system.
It allows the direct feeding of long belts to the skiving line, by means of optional receiving conveyor.
It is a versatile system, also suitable for manufacturing of discs, sheets, deltas and other special shapes.
Several accessories available: stackers, additional cutting modules and tools, etc.
